Hey guys,

Those of you who are writing up scenes, just a reminder that I need those written up by tomorrow night!

What I need in these scripts:
-Basic dialogue
-basic blocking (the movement of the characters)

I don’t need this to be super developed, but put in as much as you can! I know you guys have other work to worry about also, but I do too, and I’m getting my scene done!! Email me what you have tomorrow night, and we’ll go over the scenes and develop them more this coming Thursday.

Those of you who haven’t been coming to the meetings…if you are interested in helping out with the Zombie movie, now titled “SICK” you MUST ATTEND THIS COMING WEEKS MEETING. Otherwise, you will not be credited as being apart of Muhlenberg’s first student organization created feature film. This could be huge for our organization…and we need people to work together to get this done!

Thanks guys, I can’t wait to get this moving.

A quick reminder and then what we’re doing Thursday…PLEASE COME THURSDAY 4:30 CA 155 It is a very important meeting.

You should definitely check out the film “Motherless” at 7pm in the Miller Forum tonight—it’s about pre-Roe deaths due to illegal(aka unsafe) abortions. This topic is very important because policy makers are trying to take down Roe Vs. Wade NOW and make abortion an issue that can be decided by individual states. Ladies, this means your reproductive rights are in jeopardy! Therefore you should go see this film…also the filmmakers will be there; it should be very exciting.

NOW for MFA concerns!!!!
Last meeting was great–We have a solid format that was agreed upon by those in attendence! We elected leaders who will be in charge of producing certain scenes. They are as follows:

HEY!!!

Is Thursday at 4:30pm a BAD meeting time for anyone? I heard reports of 6pm being problematic, and I got better work study hours this semester…

Dr. Coppa, does 4.30 still work for you?

If this time seems to work we’ll go ahead and have our first meeting of the semester this thursday…I really wanna get rolling with our Zombie movie!

Again, we’ll just meet at the bottom of the CA and see what rooms are open…after this week I’ll sign out a room for us this semester so that won’t be an issue!!!

ONLY REPLY TO THIS EMAIL IF 4:30 PM ON THURSDAYS IS A BAD TIME FOR YOU. If I don’t hear from you I’ll assume it’s fine.

This thursday we will discuss the general story line—and assign scenes! PLEASE ATTEND!!

I’m stoked, hope you are too!
See you soon, and hope your first week isn’t too painful!

Multimedia Show- Help Needed

January 8, 2008

I’m sending this again because I never saw it come through the list and I don’t know if it ever did.

Jarred Marlatt needs some filmmakers to help with a show he’s doing (which I hope hasn’t passed already!) He explains that it “revolves around the story of a man and his insanity. The story takes place after World War II and examines the often-blurry line between reality and dreams. Many scenes require video and often have characters walk off stage and onto the screen. Because of technological nature of the show, we would like to extend a request to the MFA for at least two camera operators, a video editor, and a sound/lighting person. If interested, they could get in contact with me directly at jm232346@muhlenberg.edu, or through my Stage Manager Jean-Marie at JS233042@gws3.muhlenberg.edu. If this could be relayed to the MFA that would be a big help.”

DIY Conference

January 7, 2008

I’m participating in a major Do It Yourself Video conference in early Feb (more info here: http://www.video24-7.org/.) The organizers want to make a quick and dirty film as an introduction to the conference, and so are asking for as many people as possible to submit video of themselves or others reading the following script. (Link and text below:)

I’m emailing you guys who have made Quick and Dirty movies or answered MFA weekly challenges to find out if any of you can/would film yourselves or someone else, either with a webcamera or a digital camera (you can record in quicktime with an Isight, for instance.)

The deadline is THIS Thursday, though, so it’s seriously quick and dirty! I just thought one of you guys might want to come play. Creativity is welcome–you can read or perform or do anything else with the script.

If you want to, you can upload the footage to sendspace (sendspace.com) and send me a link and I’ll send it on to DIY.

Cheers,

FC

Hello everyone!!

I hope everyone has had a great vacation so far! I know it was much needed. I have been doing applications for study abroad, grants, and sponsorship for trips…and also hashing out a “plot” for our zombie film!

Toward the end of the fall semester things slowed down a bit, and understandably so–everyone has a lot of work to do at the end of the semester…which is why I think it will be a great idea for us to really hit the ground running as soon as we get back!

When we met last, we discussed certain locations that will be essential for different reasons..for example the library, 2nd floor Haas looking out onto the front lawn, the photo lab, a dorm room…the front lawn itself, Garden room…these are the main areas discussed.

Since our main issue has been a plot, I took many of our ideas and wrapped them togehter the best I could. I hope you guys don’t mind me going ahead and doing that, but I think you will be happy with the result, and if not PLEASE BE HONEST SO WE CAN MAKE CHANGES ASAP!!!!

I made our general plot line so that several mini movies combine through one scene…that way we still have something to keep it connected, but everyone still gets wiggle room to make changes that won’t have huge impacts on the story if necessary.

When we get back I want the MFA to split into groups, that will each be responsible for completing one mini movie…that way no one has TOO much work.

Here are the scenes I have concocted (the parts indicated with ** are connecting sequences where the audience will see characters from different mini movies in the same scene, but they won’t interact—this will give the whole movie a better flow) ALL SCENES, and the film as a whole, WILL TAKE PLACE ON A FRIDAY AFTERNOON, EXCEPT 1ST SCENE (I know a scene was already storyboarded. We will still use that, just need to find a place for it–i didn’t forget about it, just have to make connections for it!!!)
