This meeting we screened Jon Gavin’s creation movie “The Chicken and the Egg”. You can watch it on youtube [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nu23HnN3tyI] and you can find the rest of the weekly challenge movies on imeem [http://mfa.imeem.com/].

We will NOT be meeting next Thursday because of spring break. Our next meeting will be March 15th. During break, you can work on the next challenge: stop motion. This site has some good basic information about making stop motion films: http://www.stopmotionanimation.com/handbook/
and this is a great example on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJzU3NjDikY

When we get back, we will be watching some clips of surrealistic films. Ask Jared for more info.

Hey everybody, just wanted be a good unofficial secretary and update you on Thursday’s meeting.

The pre-production workshop was rescheduled for next week (February 22nd). The other two workshops (production and editing) will probably be on a weekend so more people can come. Saturday afternoons seemed like a good possibility.

We went over the group housing application and it’s now ready to go. Jared, myself, the housemates, and the alternates are going to have a brief prep meeting sometime next week before the interview with Residential Services. If you have any housing connections or bribery experience, you’re welcome to join us!

The sock movies were screened and we agreed that next week’s theme would be creation. It’s completely open to interpretation. On Thursday, we also plan to watch some Surrealist/Dadaist films in order to prepare for our next theme.

Our first weekly challenge was a hit; we had three Banana artworks: see them now on the MFA’s new Imeem page!

The theme for next week’s meeting is–SOCKS. Remember, you can make any kind of visual art you want, moving or still.
