1) The Spring Lo-Fi, Punk Rock Quick and Dirty Festival is on and has been scheduled for April 13, 2007 at 7 PM.
2) We have a core group of MFA members who have volunteered to shepherd the group into formal existence. However, we will need 20 students to formally sign up as members. So please do come to meeting Thursday to formally sign up!
3) Upcoming Events!
Tuesdays 6-8, Spring 2007: Dr. Osterweil is opening up the screenings for Films of the 1960s to all film students. Some of these are quite rare (ie not on DVD; this is 16mm stuff.) The schedule is posted here: http://www.muhlenberg.edu/depts/filmstudies/forum.html
Feb 7 – Tom Gunning will be coming to Muhlenberg to give an evening talk on February 7 – exact time and place TBA. Gunning is America’s preeminent film historian. He specializes in early cinema and silent cinema.
Feb 13 – Micky Hyman ‘61 will be speaking to students about the “Business” of Performing Arts. He is an entertainment lawyer, film and television producer, and worked formerly for CBS and MGM-USA. He’s been a consultant for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and he’s currently a Managing Director for Leslie/Linton Entertainment in New York (and formerly an MTA member.) The presentation will take place on Tuesday, February 13th at 4:30pm, place TBA. Students should sign-up to attend through their Career Connections accounts.
